Dr. Jim Webber is the Global Architecture Lead for ThoughtWorks where he works with clients on delivering dependable service-oriented systems. Jim has extensive Web Services architecture and development experience as an architect with Arjuna Technologies and was the lead developer with Hewlett-Packard on the industry's first Web Services Transaction solution.

Jim is an active speaker in the Web Services space and is co-author of the book "Developing Enterprise Web Services - An Architect's Guide" in addition to being a contributing author to other books and articles. Jim holds a B.Sc. in Computing Science and Ph.D. in Parallel Computing both from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Christian Weyer is co-founder of thinktecture, a European company aiding and supporting software architects and developers in designing and implementing distributed solutions architectures. He has been modelling and implementing distributed applications with Java, COM, DCOM, COM+, Web Services and other technologies. Christian has been focusing on the ideas and concepts of service-orientation and their practical translation in customer projects in the past few years, with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) being the two main technologies applied recently.

Christian's views on architecture and distributed solutions are considered both mature and innovating. A number of customers have put confidence into his experience when it comes to apply WCF and WF to real problems. The national and international developer and architect community knows Christian from his weblog, webcasts, forums activities, usergroup talks and conference performances. Rickard Öberg, Jayway

Rickard has worked on several OpenSource projects that involve J2EE development, such as JBoss, XDoclet and WebWork. He has also been the principal architect of the SiteVision CMS/portal platform, where he used AOP as the foundation. Now he works for Jayway, and is interested in how to develop domain-oriented software that is well adapted for the new wave of Internet-centered applications.

Joe Armstrong

Joe Armstrong designed and implemented the first version of Erlang in 1986. He has written several Erlang books including the best selling "Programming Erlang" published by the Pragmatic Bookshelf. Joe held the first ever Erlang course and has taught Erlang to hundreds of programmers and held many lectures and keynotes describing the technology.

Joe has a PhD in computer science from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH) , Sweden and is an expert in the construction of fault tolerant systems. Joe was the chief software architect of the project which produced the Erlang OTP system. He has worked as an entrepreneur in the first Swedish Erlang startup (Bluetail) and has worked for 30 years in industry and research.

He is responsible for the server control framework in ASP.NET, initiated and led the development of ASP.NET AJAX, and now plays a key role in the programming model aspects of the Silverlight platform. Niels Berglund

Niels Berglund is a member of DevelopMentor's technical research, curriculum development and teaching staff. He specializes in the .NET system software and database areas, and is author of DevelopMentors database courses. Niels speaks regularly at various industry conferences.
